INDUSTRIAL FLOW coatings

Flow Coating

Flow coating is a method of applying liquid coatings to a surface using gravity and the viscosity of the coating to distribute it evenly.  It can be used to coat a variety of shapes and surfaces, and is often used in industrial settings.

Benefits of Flow Coatings

  • Corrosion Resistance:
    • Protects the substrate from chemical reactions, particularly in aggressive environments like seawater, acidic, or alkaline media as well as harsh weather and UV environments.
  • Chemical Resistance:
    • Ensures long-term durability in environments with exposure to chemicals, solvents, or hydrocarbons.

Common Materials Used for Flow Coatings

  • Epoxy Coatings:
    • Widely used for their excellent adhesion and resistance to corrosion and abrasion.
    • Common in pipeline interiors to improve flow and protect against corrosion.
  • Polyurethane Coatings:
    • Provide flexibility and resistance to impact, chemicals, and UV exposure.
    • Suitable for both internal and external surfaces.
